By: Hannah McKenna, School Event Reporter Central Middle School- CMS students were invited Wednesday September 24 to a BMX show from our fall fundraiser. The BMX show was performed by a BMX group called The Lone Star Auto Sports. The performance was during 7th and 8th period. There were about 200 students that got to go to the show. “It was awesome! It was a good way to miss 7th and 8th period!” said Merrick, CSAM7. “It was really cool!” said Archit CSAM7. “I like that some of the performers gave some of the kids free merchandise,” said Sadie CSAM7. Mr. Bronkella got to participate in Wednesday's events. One of the performers flipped over him. The performers did a lot of bike jumps, flips, and even jumped over 4 CMS students. You can follow them on Instagram and Facebook at Lone Star Auto Sports. Gamer's Club
By Westley Wurtz Gamer's Club is hosted by Mr. Prohl and meets in his classroom 174, every Thursdays right after school. In Gamer's Club, people play awesome board and card games, not video games. In this club, you realize just how great games can be without any technology! Students have a great time there and you should join. After school, on Wednesday, you will head to Mr. Prohl’s class. It does not really start until ten minutes after the bell rings, so you have time to get to your locker before attending. Once there, you can look at all of the options for games and then you can get one out and start playing. There are games like Munchkin, Sorry, Monopoly, and Spot It. So far there are about eight regular members in this club, which is plenty to have fun, but the more people that join in, the better it is!. Come join the club and be a part of the fun. You will love all the things we do. |
Anime/Manga Club
By:Brian Nix, Central News Reporter Every Monday during lunches, at Central Middle School, Mrs. Fee hosts a gathering of students called Anime/Manga Club. Don’t know what anime is? Well that’s ok because I’ll explain it for you. Anime is a Japanese cartoon animation style that is very popular. Being a cartoon does not mean it is childish. Anime can be about action, adventure, or even romance. Anime was created by Osamu Tezuka. He was the one who created Astro Boy, the #1 movie in America for teens in 2009! Manga is the name of a similar Japanese comic book style. Anime is on video, manga is in books! Anime and manga didn't become wildly popular here until cartoons like Naruto, One Piece, Dragon Ball Z, Fruits Basket, Inuyasha, and Pokemon came to America. Now that anime is popular here among teenagers, Mrs. Fee decided to create a club so we can share our passion, discuss different anime features and practice creating our own. Anime/Manga Club takes place in the library every Monday from 10:45 to 11:20. It is hosted by Mrs.Fee (librarian). Anyone is welcome! So, if you're interested in drawing, watching anime, discussing the art, or hanging out with friends this is the place for you! Guitar Club
